This Christmas ad launched at the end of 2013 could be one of the best apple’s commercial on my list,

It is pretty successful in many aspects, first of all, iPhone 5s was released on September 2013, and you can catch a glimpse of how powerful iPhone 5s is in this commercial, the boy, for example, use his iPhone 5s easily recorded and edited a sentimental family movie and synced to the Apple tv thru I think Airplay one of the synchronizing function between Apple devices, everything is so handy, smooth and efficient. Apparently, it not only showed how the new iPhone perfectly works on video shooting and editing, but also demonstrated an integrated user experience of Apple products.

In addition, it builds a connection between users and Apple products, people use their iPhone to record their lives and use Apple TV to share happiness, it shows a joyful lifestyle to viewers thru a great story, this Christmas commercial is touching and so real that makes you even forget it’s a commercial but instead it seems like a true story.

And more importantly, differentiating from previous Apple’s ads which were more product focused, such as FaceTime, Siri or applications, this advertising focuses more on users and how their devices improve their lives, people, especially teenagers are addicted to their Phones, and this advertising encourages people to be more attached to their relatives, to participate into family occasions. it touches people emotionally. By revealing a value that it's never about technology, it's about the quality of life, Apple makes itself standout among technology companies.

This is the reason why I love this ad, because it’s not just selling goods, it builds connection between audience and brand, it creates a desire for apple products, it delivers an educational message and it has a great idea and I think that's why this branding advertising won an Emmy award on 2013.
